ABN
An Australian Business Number identifies your business to government and other businesses. It is commonly needed for invoicing, GST registration and operating as a business in Australia. Apply or check details through the official Business Registration Service.
Business name
A business name is the trading name you use if you do not trade under your own legal name. It does not automatically give you a licence to perform regulated work.
Licence or permit
A licence or permit gives permission for a specific regulated activity, place or industry. Examples include food business registration, building contractor licences, liquor licences and security licences.
